Severe shortages in the Naval Service

Irelands’s Atlantic Coast is now ground zero for smuggling narcotics into Europe, primarily due to the precarious state of our Navy.
There is no substitute for fully crewed hulls on the water providing a visible maritime presence to deter & disrupt smugglers.
Internationally, Ireland’s much vaunted ‘Wild Atlantic Way’ is now synonymous with lawlessness.
As recent events prove Ireland also needs to be able to monitor, operate & intervene effectively beneath the waves to uphold law & order in our territorial waters.
There is a direct correlation between what is happening off our South West Coast and what is happening in every town & village across Ireland.
By not resourcing our Navy we have handed the keys of the country over to the drug cartels to do with us what they wish…
