Lá Fhéile Bríde – Happy St. Brigid’s Day!

Happy St. Brigid’s Day everyone! Today is a particularly special day for everyone in Kildare to celebrate Brigid of Kildare and to enjoy the wide range of activities planned across the county today to celebrate Brigid 1500.

Today celebrates Ireland’s only female patron saint and we now have a bank holiday to celebrate her life and legacy.

It’s also lovely to mark the beginning of spring – here’s to new life, new beginnings, health & happiness for us all.

Fantastic to have this new beautiful artwork pictured below displayed in Leinster House now. ‘Brigid and Conleth at Dawn’ was painted by artist Lia Laimböck.
