I very much welcome the Our Rural Future plan being announced today. It’s an initiative I’ve been pushing for some time now. Great opportunity for the constituency to capitalise on the relocation of workers from Dublin to our rural towns and villages. People should be able to live and work in their own county should they wish. This increases their quality of life while simultaneously reducing their cost of living and carbon footprint.
The government must now move quickly to accelerate the rollout of the National Broadband Plan and establish a network of co-working/co-learning hubs across rural Ireland to enable this plan to succeed. Great day for commuter counties!
