Town and Village Renewal Scheme Funding for Kildare South Constituency
I’m delighted to confirm that Portarlington, Athy, Robertstown & Monasterevin have received funding under the Town and Village Renewal Scheme this morning. This funding will be used to rejuvenate the centre of our towns by developing public plazas, town parks, community gardens and sports facilities for the benefit of local families.
The projects in our constituency that received funding include –
Portarlington – The project will implement actions identified in the Portarlington landscape masterplan. This will include a central plaza/event space, playground upgrade and the upgrading of park – €500,000Athy, Co. Kildare – Funding under the Streetscape Enhancement Measure in Athy– €100,000
Robertstown, Co.Kildare: The development of a recreational facility which will include an eco-park, green playground, integrated green skate park, car park, dog park, playing pitches and an outdoor Amphitheatre at the centre – €500,000Monasterevin – Purchase a former Bank of Ireland building for use as a co-working enterprise hubs.Great to see further positive progress taking place in the Kildare South area!
