Urgent need for a new Secondary School in Kildare South

The shortage of secondary school places in Kildare South has been an ongoing issue for a number of years. While short-term solutions can be found for Sept 2021 by increasing capacity in nearby secondary schools, the only definitive solution is to build a new secondary school for the Curragh/Newbridge/Kildare area as the existing school in the Curragh Camp is not fit for purpose.
Fortunately, there is an abundance of public land in the vicinity and having recently discussed the matter with the three main players (Dept of Defence, Dept of Education and Kildare Co Co) they are all on board with the proposal. I was on a site visit to identify a possible suitable location for the new school last week and I have arranged a high-level visit of senior cabinet ministers to visit the Curragh Post-Primary School in the near future to see the facilities for themselves.
