Water Conservation in Portarlington
Irish Water and Laois County Council continue to remind customers in Portarlington and surrounding areas to conserve water where possible during essential night-time water restrictions currently in place from 10pm until 6am.
Despite recent rainfall, drinking water demand is outstripping supply and these restrictions are necessary to allow treated reservoir levels to restore each night to maintain a sufficient water supply to homes and businesses in Portarlington during the day.
Please be advised that it may take 2-3 hours for normal water supply to be fully restored to impacted customers as the network refills.
The leak detection experts have been working hard to reduce demand in the town by locating and repairing leaks as well as managing pressure on the network.
