Cathal Berry Visits The National Stud in Kildare South.
Cathal met with horse breeder, Dermot Cantillon at The National Stud in Kildare to discuss the importance of the Thoroughbred Industry to not only the economy of Kildare South but to the culture and spirit of the area.
There are few places in the world with a breeding and racing tradition as rich as that in County Kildare. As well as success on the track and in the breeding sheds, the equine industry provides over 4,700 jobs in the County and over €420m in annual expenditure.
In addition to being the home of some of the most iconic studs and training establishments in Europe, the constituency features a world-famous racecourse in the Curragh.
There is a rich history of Breeding and Racing in this area, one that the people of Kildare South should feel very proud of.
