Weekly Update from Dr Cathal Berry TD

Hi Everyone, I hope you are keeping well. Another busy two weeks across the constituency and in Leinster House. Here are some of the things myself and the team has been up to –
✅ Volunteered at the ONE medical clinic for Defence Force veterans in Dublin.
✅ Virtually attended the board meeting of Kildare Drug & Alcohol Task Force.
✅ Met the Newbridge Community Development group and local constituents in Ryston to resist mooted changes to the approved footpath connecting the Linear Park with the new Belin Woods housing estate in Newbridge.
✅ Attended the launch of the Newbridge Family Resource Centre’s 5 year Strategic Plan.
✅ Attended and spoke at the Slandáil Defence Conference in relation to urgent issues affecting the Defence Forces.
✅ Was delighted to attend the launch of the June Fest events at the Liffey Linear Park in Newbridge.
✅ Spoke to Minister Ryan in the Dáil about the Shackleton Museum in Athy and raised the Antarctic Treaty with him.
✅ Met with the Israeli, Finnish and Polish Ambassadors in Dublin.
✅ Attended a Ukrainian brief in Leinster House to discuss how we can best support Ukrainians living in our communities.
✅ Spoke to the Minister for Housing in the Dáil about housing adaption grants for older people and people with a disability.
✅ Attended a function in the US Ambassador’s residence in the Phoenix Park to discuss matters of importance to both our countries.
✅ Attended the launch of the New Zealand Business Network in Ireland.
✅ Myself and my team met with and assisted various constituents in relation to issues of concern for them in our Newbridge & Portarlington Constituency offices.
