It’s been another busy week in Leinster house and around the Kildare South constituency! Here’s some of the things myself and the team have been up to –
Asked the Taoiseach to put a recognition package in place for frontline healthcare workers and volunteers who have been working tirelessly throughout the pandemic.
Raised the issue of the Defence Forces post 1994 contracts with the Minister for Defence and also asked about how he intends to bring the forces back to full strength.
Spoke with a delegation of Veterans at the Foreign Affairs & Defence Committee meeting to discuss how we can best improve conditions.
Virtually attended a Kildare County Council brief to discuss a variety of local issues in Kildare – site for a new secondary school, the new distributor road for Athy & the Curragh Plains Strategy.
Welcomed the news of Liffey Lodge being purchased by KCC & the great opportunity it is for Newbridge.
Visited Kilkea Castle for the launch of the Kildare Tourism Strategy.
Asked Minister Eamon Ryan about payment for households and businesses that microgenerate energy from solar panels and wind turbines.
Was delighted to visit the new Aldi store in Newbridge – great to see a new store in the town & more jobs being created locally.
Attended the Portarlington Sustainability Group meeting.
Myself and my team met with and assisted various constituents in relation to issues of concern for them in our Newbridge & Portarlington constituency offices.
As always, don’t hesitate to get in contact with me here or a member of the team in our constituency offices if we can assist you with any issues.
All the best & take good care,
Cathal
