Outdoor Recreation Funding 2021 for Kildare South

Local News
Great news this morning that funding has been allocated to Kildare, Laois & Offaly under the first measure of the Outdoor Recreation Funding Scheme.
We have a lot of fantastic walkways and trails here locally. Hopefully, this funding will be a boost for many of these groups. Delighted to also see Vicarstown included, a superb neighbouring community and part of the Blueway Barrow Route. Looking forward to seeing the difference it will make to the following locations!
🔹 Kilcullen, Co. Kildare – €9,900.00 – to provide directional signage and information on a pedestrian & cycling looped route.
🔹 River Walk to Spa Bridge, Portarlington – €19,980.00 – Develop a further stretch of 400m walking trail along the River Barrow.
🔹 Kilbracken, Ballybrittas, Co. Laois – €20,000.00 – Development of walkway from the Grand Canal Blueway at Kilbracken to include picnic area, bicycle rack, biodiversity area and access to carpark and toilet facilities.
🔹 Co. Kildare – €19,579.05 – to produce an illustrated guide to the canal trails in Kildare.
🔹 Co. Kildare – €16,200.00 – self-guided maps of the Greenways & Blueways in Kildare.
