I really welcome confirmation from the Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications, Eamon Ryan TD that following major funding allocations of €27.8 million from the Just Transition Programme, a variety of projects in Kildare, Laois and Offaly have received funding. These projects represent innovative and inspiring plans from businesses, local authorities and communities who are committed to creating a green and sustainable economy for the region.
Congratulations to all groups on their successful applications, great to see this funding being allocated to the area.
North Kildare Business and Learning Campus: Site Expansion Works – Allenwood Community Development Association CLG – €810,394
Laois & Offaly – Midlands Ireland.ie Digital Roadmap – €998,750
Laois & Offaly – Midlands Network of Co-working Facilities – Business Development – €255,000
Laois & Offaly – Social Enterprise Exchange – The Cluster Centre – €170,978
Laois & Offaly – Conservation and Pollination – Medieval Churches in Laois and Offaly – €748,000
In addition, the Cabinet today approved funding of €108m for Bord na Móna’s large-scale peatlands restoration project. The plan will create 350 jobs in total, will deliver significant benefits and contribute to Ireland’s target of being carbon-neutral by 2050.
